Reviews from Staff

Being part of the Young Innovators Robotics Club has been one of the most fulfilling and inspiring roles I’ve taken on. As an instructor, I get the unique opportunity to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds through hands-on learning in robotics, coding, and 3D printing. What I love most about working with Young Innovators is the club’s commitment to nurturing each student’s potential, regardless of their prior experience. The environment is incredibly supportive not just for the kids, but for instructors too. I’ve had the freedom to design engaging lesson plans, introduce new technologies, and adapt teaching methods to best suit the needs of each age group. Watching students go from hesitant beginners to confident builders and problem-solvers is immensely rewarding. Their excitement when a robot completes a maze or when code works exactly as intended is contagious. Beyond the classroom, I appreciate how Young Innovators fosters a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continual learning. It’s more than just a job it’s a chance to be part of something that genuinely shapes future innovators.

Volunteering with Young Innovators has been such a rewarding experience. I was drawn to the organization because of its mission to make STEAM education accessible and engaging for kids, and I’m so glad I joined. During my time here, I’ve had the chance to support hands-on workshops in coding, robotics, and 3D printing, and it’s been incredible to watch the students’ creativity and confidence grow each session. What stood out the most for me was how collaborative and welcoming the environment is not just for the kids, but for volunteers as well. I felt supported, encouraged, and trusted to take on meaningful responsibilities. I’ve also gained new skills in teaching, communication, and problem-solving that I know will stay with me. I would highly recommend volunteering with Young Innovators to anyone who wants to inspire the next generation while also learning and growing themselves. It’s been a truly memorable and fulfilling experience.

Teaching for Young Innovators has been an amazing experience for me as an aspiring teacher. The group at Young Innovators are all extremely supportive and taught me about the lesson planning and organization that is required to teach. I loved teaching the 2024 summer camps with my favourite activity being the 3D printed car challenge.

I loved being able to give back to my community in a way that resonated with me. I felt like my background in engineering and problem solving was perfect when coming up with creative ways to teach technical concepts to the children in class in a way that was easy to digest. My favourite part was seeing the students go from not knowing anything to having fully functioning projects, and overall, it was inspiring to see how eager they were to learn.
