Camp Themes

Mega Builds: Engineering STEM Camp

Build big and think like an engineer! In this hands-on camp, campers will use robotics, coding, and 3D printing to tackle exciting large-scale engineering challenges. Students will design, build, test, and improve their creations while solving fun problems that encourage creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Science of Soccer & Robotics STEM Camp

Experience the beautiful game through a new lens! This camp combines a love for soccer with the innovation of hands-on technology. Campers will tackle fun challenges that use coding, robotics, and 3D Printing to solve problems, create custom projects, and see soccer in a whole new way.

Urban Search & Rescue STEM Camp

Welcome to the frontline of innovation! In this hands-on camp, young responders will use coding, robotics, 3D printing & design to tackle real-world problems. They’ll design solutions, engineer interactive tools, and code simulations that explore the vital role of technology in disaster response and recovery.

Weather Rangers: Storm & Sensor STEM Camp

Unleash the power of creative technology through the lens of weather! This camp is all about building, coding, 3D printing, and designing while exploring the science behind storms, winds, and atmospheric pressure. Your kid will turn observations of nature into tangible, exciting tech creations.

Spy Tech: STEM Camp

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: become a tech-operative for the week! In this hands-on camp, kids will use coding, robotics, and 3D printing to design gadgets, crack codes, and complete their own spy missions.

Minecraft Makers: STEM Camp

Level up from player to creator! In this camp, kids will use coding, 3D printing, and robotics to bring the world of Minecraft into the real world. They’ll design, build, and automate their own inventions, transforming game ideas into tangible tech projects.

Common Q&A's

What are the benefits of the camps?

All of our young innovators have an opportunity to develop analytical and problem-solving skills that will help them excel in middle and high school.

Students have fun making new friends while designing and building their own games, toys, and robots.

Introducing kids to STEM subjects early will equip them with the skills they need to thrive later in life, as STEM occupations are projected to grow by almost 11% by 2031, over twice as fast as the growth for all occupations.

Why is the registration on a recreation centre website?

All our programs are vetted and delivered in collaboration with local recreation centres. When registering for our courses, you will be taken to the recreation centre’s website to complete the registration.

Who teaches the courses, and what are their credentials?

At Young Innovators, we take instructor quality seriously.

Every instructor is certified in First Aid and has passed a criminal background check.

They also bring real-world experience in STEM fields and previous experience working with kids.

What type of curriculum do you use?

Our programs align with the Applied Design, Skills and Technologies Curriculum (ADST) certified by the B.C. government.

This curriculum encourages students to reflect on ‘Why?’ questions when making decisions, while promoting creativity and critical thinking skills.

Our curriculum also caters to multiple learning styles, including auditory, visual, and hands-on approaches.

What is the instructor-to-child ratio?

At Young Innovators, we run intentionally small class sizes with an instructor-to-child ratio of 1:8, so every child gets real attention and the support they need.

Are there different levels to the programs?

No, the courses do not have to be taken in any particular order. This allows students to sample different topics they’re interested in more deeply.

Does my kid need any previous experience?

No previous experience is necessary.
