Build an Electronic Jack-o’-Lantern is a Halloween STEM workshop in Abbotsford where kids ages 7 – 14 will assemble their very own light-up jack-o’-lantern using blocks and simple electronics. Kids will also get the chance to drive robots from our Battle Bots Courses!
This Halloween, let your child’s creativity shine — literally! In this hands-on workshop, kids will assemble their very own light-up jack-o’-lantern using blocks and simple electronics. Kids will also get the chance to drive robots from our Battle Bots Courses!
Throughout the workshop, participants will:
- Assemble and take home a jack-o’-lantern they built themselves
- Wire up simple circuits to make their pumpkin glow
- Get a fun, accessible first taste of the engineering and design skills used in our full STEM programs
- Get a chance to drive a robot!

All our programs are vetted and delivered in collaboration with local recreation centres. When registering for our courses, you will be taken to the recreation centre’s website to complete the registration.
At Young Innovators, we take instructor quality seriously.
Every instructor is certified in First Aid and has passed a criminal background check.
They also bring real-world experience in STEM fields and previous experience working with kids.
At Young Innovators, we run intentionally small class sizes with an instructor-to-child ratio of 1:8, so every child gets real attention and the support they need.
