Bots vs Bots: Ultimate Robot Soccer is a robotics after-school program in Langley where kids ages 7 – 14 will design, build, and engineer their very own robot using Vex IQ — then take it onto the field to compete in a real 2v2 robot soccer league.






Get ready for the most exciting robotics program of the year. In this hands-on course, students design, build, and engineer their very own robot using Vex IQ — then take it onto the field to compete in a real 2v2 robot soccer league. Every session brings a new engineering challenge: tuning your drivetrain for speed and control, designing a ball mechanism that can outmaneuver the competition, and refining your robot based on what you learned from last week’s class. It’s not just building — it’s building with a purpose.
Throughout the course, participants will:
- Design and build their own robot from the ground up,
- Develop and test custom ball-handling mechanisms to gain a competitive edge on the field
- Learn the same iterative design process used by real-world robotics engineers — build, test, improve, repeat
- Develop teamwork and critical thinking as they strategize with their partner and adapt to the competition
- Compete in a Championship tournament where robots, skills, and strategy are put to the ultimate test

Dates: Sundays, September 20 - October 25, 2026 (No class on October 11 due to Thanksgiving)
Then the final tournament will be 3:45 - 6PM, November 1st at the North Delta Centre for the Arts with the Delta & White Rock classes.

All our programs are vetted and delivered in collaboration with local recreation centres. When registering for our courses, you will be taken to the recreation centre’s website to complete the registration.

Every instructor is certified in First Aid and has passed a criminal background check.
They also bring real-world experience in STEM fields and previous experience working with kids.
Our programs align with the Applied Design, Skills and Technologies Curriculum (ADST) certified by the B.C. government.
This curriculum encourages students to reflect on ‘Why?’ questions when making decisions, while promoting creativity and critical thinking skills.
Our curriculum also caters to multiple learning styles, including auditory, visual, and hands-on approaches.
At Young Innovators, we run intentionally small class sizes with an instructor-to-child ratio of 1:8, so every child gets real attention and the support they need.
No, the courses do not have to be taken in any particular order. This allows students to sample different topics they’re interested in more deeply.
